Project Coordinator linked to European Capital of Culture 2029

It is now confirmed that Katrin Amberntsson will take on the role of project coordinator in the process for Uppsala as the European Capital of Culture 2029. She comes most recently from Colombine Theatre Agency where she has been a project manager focusing on copyright agreements.

Katrin has extensive experience in planning and executing complex international events and a broad professional background in the cultural sector. She has worked at the Government Offices of Sweden as a meeting coordinator in connection with Sweden’s Presidency of the EU in 2023 and as a project manager for the planning of the International Council for Cultural Centers’ World Summit on Arts and Culture.

She also has extensive experience in programming and tour activities in Sweden and internationally, both as chief producer at the concert organizer Re:Orient and as program coordinator at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, the Museum of Ethnography, and the Mediterranean Museum in Stockholm.

Previously, she was also the event manager at Södra Teatern and coordinator for the Contemporary Art Days in Södertälje. When Stockholm was the European Capital of Culture in 1998, Katrin was employed as an information officer for the project.

“Katrin is a dream recruitment – her background and experience from similar projects fit like a glove for the process ahead. We are incredibly happy to have her join us on this journey and look forward to starting to work together.” / Patric Kiraly, Main Project Leader Uppsala European Capital of Culture – Between the Lines 2029
